Contest Period
The Italian Counter 1st Anniversary Giveaway begins on October 6, 2026 and ends at the close of business on October 22, 2026.
The winners will be drawn and announced on October 23, 2026.
Eligibility
The contest is open to legal residents of Ontario who are 18 years of age or older.
Employees of The Italian Counter and members of their immediate household are not eligible to enter.
Prizes
Three (3) prizes will be awarded, with a combined approximate retail value of $277.98 CAD, consisting of:
First Prize — Approximate Retail Value: $190 CAD
- One $150 The Italian Counter Gift Card
- One The Italian Counter cap, approximate retail value $40
Second Prize — Approximate Retail Value: $63.99 CAD
- One The Italian Counter cap, approximate retail value $40
- One medium The Italian Counter tiramisù, approximate retail value $23.99
Third Prize — Approximate Retail Value: $23.99 CAD
- One medium The Italian Counter tiramisù, approximate retail value $23.99
The prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not redeemable or exchangeable for cash.
Each entrant may win only one prize.
The second and third prizes were added on October 16, 2026. All eligible entries received since the beginning of the contest, including those submitted before this update, are eligible for all three prize draws.
How to Enter With a Purchase
During the contest period, spend $30 or more before tax, after discounts, in a single transaction at The Italian Counter to receive one contest entry.
There is a limit of one entry per person per calendar day, regardless of entry method.
Customers may earn additional entries by making qualifying purchases on different days during the contest period.
Purchases of gift cards do not count toward the $30 qualifying amount.
Transactions may not be divided or split for the purpose of receiving additional contest entries.
Purchase ballots must include the entrant’s name and contact information. The transaction receipt number may be recorded on the ballot for verification purposes.
No Purchase Necessary
No purchase is necessary to enter.
To enter without making a purchase, an eligible entrant may submit an original handwritten entry during The Italian Counter’s regular business hours containing:
- Full name
- Telephone number or email address
- At least 50 handwritten words answering:
“What is your favourite Italian food and why?”
Each no-purchase submission must be original. Photocopies, reproductions or duplicate submissions will not be accepted.
Limit one no-purchase entry per person per calendar day.
No person may receive more than one contest entry on the same calendar day, regardless of whether the entry was obtained through a purchase or through the no-purchase method.
Duplicate Entries
If more than one entry is submitted by the same person on the same calendar day, only the first eligible entry received will be counted. Any additional entries from that person for that day will be void.
Winner Draw
Three potential winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received during the contest period.
The draws will take place on October 23, 2026, in the following order:
- First Prize
- Second Prize
- Third Prize
Each prize will be awarded to a different eligible entrant. Once an entrant has been selected for a prize, their other entries will be excluded from subsequent prize draws. If a selected entrant is found to be ineligible or fails to qualify as a winner, another eligible entry may be drawn for that prize.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
Skill-Testing Question
Before being declared a winner, each entrant whose ballot is drawn must correctly answer, without assistance, a mathematical skill-testing question.
If a selected entrant answers incorrectly, is found to be ineligible, or cannot be contacted within seven (7) days, another eligible entry may be drawn at random for that prize.
Winner Notification
The entrants whose ballots are drawn will be contacted using the telephone number or email address provided with their entries.
Once eligibility has been confirmed and the skill-testing questions have been answered correctly, the winners may be announced through The Italian Counter’s social media accounts.
Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with the contest will be used only for the purpose of administering the contest, verifying eligibility and contacting the winners.
General Conditions
By entering, participants agree to comply with these Official Rules.
The Italian Counter reserves the right to reject incomplete, fraudulent, duplicated or otherwise ineligible entries.
The Italian Counter also reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the contest if circumstances beyond its reasonable control prevent the contest from being conducted as intended, subject to applicable law.
